No. You can create a record and receive a SHA-256 fingerprint and timestamp immediately. You need an account to save it and receive a shareable verification link.
What does 'proof of existence' mean?
It means Lyricsmit records that a file with a specific fingerprint existed at a specific point in time. It does not decide who created the work or register it with any legal authority.
Is verification always free?
Yes. Anyone can verify any saved record at lyricsmit.com/verify/[id] with no account and no payment required.
Can I upgrade a free record to a premium certificate?
Yes. Any saved record can be upgraded to a premium certificate from your dashboard or the result page.
